The question: a mark that carries a visible connection to Adaptto while sitting inside Ettore Design System 1.1. The dial runs from 1 (no guide change) to 6 (overturns the Archivo-wordmark decision). Every candidate uses Adaptto's construction constants where it borrows anything: circle r=41, stroke 26, butt terminals. Tags say what each option reopens in design-guide.html.

01 Endorsement lockupno guide changenav + footer only
Ettore stays exactly as specified (Archivo 700). The connection is Adaptto's own mark, mono in --muted, placed inside the "by Adaptto" endorsement the guide already allows. It denotes the parent, not Ettore — same scoping rule as the text today: marketing nav and footer, never in the product. Ships now.
02 Sibling glyph · the geometric "e"replaces favicon "E" · SVG export pulled forward
Same workshop, different letter. A lowercase e built from Adaptto's exact constants: r=41 circle, 26 stroke, butt terminals. Adaptto's aperture sits at 1:30; this one at 4:30, with the crossbar closing the loop at mid-height. No dot, no borrowed colour. Becomes favicon, app icon, OG mark; the wordmark stays Archivo text. The crossbar reads as the rule under a table header.
03 The "e" with the accent crossbarreplaces favicon "E"one signal colour
Option 02 with Ettore's one colour on the one straight element. The ring is ink (the loop, the process); the bar is --accent (the rule, the human step across it). It puts the signal colour where the guide already puts it: on "what you can do", never on status. On the accent tile it falls back to mono white.
04 The "e" with the accent dotreopens §16 · signal dot as brand element
The direct analogue of Adaptto's gesture. Adaptto's dot sits on the ring at 1:30; this one sits on the same ring at 4:30, in the aperture — the mirror. Maximum family recognition. It is also exactly what §16 retired ("signal dot as THE brand element — not used") and §03's "never the yellow dot" in a different colour. On the sheet so the end of the dial is visible, not as a recommendation.
05 The current "E", redrawn in Adaptto's penfavicon construction only
Least borrowed, still related. The guide's favicon is an Archivo "E" on --accent. This keeps that spec and redraws the letter as a 26-stroke monoline with butt terminals: the kinship is the stroke system, nothing else. No glyph shared with Adaptto, no dot, no aperture. Safest against the distance test; the connection is only visible to someone who has both marks side by side.

The whole name in Adaptto's grammar. Same metrics as iteration-17: x-line circles r=41, t bar at the x-height, stroke 26. The tt pair and the o are byte-identical to Adaptto's glyphs; both names share the double-t. Unmistakably one family. It also replaces the Archivo text wordmark and undercuts §02's reason for the serif display (distance from Adaptto's all-grotesk pages). Rounded lowercase monoline reads friendlier than the "industrial, next to an ERP" brief. On the sheet as the far end of the dial.
